Join CJI in Making History
Circle for Justice Innovations joins all our grantees, applicants, donors, allies, and Circle members in celebrating Black History Month.
CJI is proud to play its part in making Black history through truly inclusive grantmaking centered on the lived experiences of those most impacted by America’s draconian and discriminatory criminal legal system. As one of many Black-led philanthropic organizations funding directly impacted leaders and movement-building, CJI is proud to partner with Black leaders and activists who are paving the way for justice to be accessed by all.
Today, and always, CJI is committed to ensuring Black people, and all people of color, have their voices heard, access to opportunity, and the resources they need to transform our broken criminal legal system. We will continue to uplift the leadership of those countless Black folks who have sacrificed their lives and time to support our shared liberation. After all, our very existence depends upon it:
“If a race has no history, it has no worthwhile tradition, it becomes a negligible factor in the thought of the world, and it stands in danger of being exterminated.”
—Carter G. Woodson (1875–1950), historian and originator of Black History Month
We look forward to continuing to make history with you.
In Solidarity,
CJI
